The town of B\u00fchl is celebrating 20 years of the direct marketing farmers' market. On the anniversary Saturday, 16 September, 66 exhibitors will transform parts of the Hauptstra\u00dfe and Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe from 9:00 to 16:00 into a gourmet mile with regional delicacies for shopping and tasting on site and a workshop for the future. Live farm animals, stilt walkers and anniversary offers will make the day a unique experience.<\/p>\n

The 20-year history begins with the Green Weekends from 1997 to 1999 on Europaplatz. This was followed by the farmers\u201e market in the main street as part of the Europe-wide \u201cInto the city without my car\" day of action from 2001 to 2011. Since 2012, the farmers' market has been established as an independent event that is very popular and has a firm place in the city's events programme. Its unique selling point is the emphasis placed on regional and seasonal products from the exhibitors. In addition, information on mobility and energy is available to visitors free of charge.<\/p>\n

B\u00fchl celebrates throughout the year with events such as the film Tomorrow, a lecture on sustainable community catering, hands-on activities on the topic of nutrition for school classes and, now in autumn, cooking courses with selected farm shops, their products and farmers. Among them is the winner of the \u201eLecker aufs Land\u201c SWR 2016 cookery competition, Yvonne Zick.<\/p>\n

The highlight is the farmers' market itself. Special features this year are
\n- The anniversary tent: Get to know the participants from the very beginning and find out which projects B\u00fchler schools have used to implement the topic of sustainable nutrition.
\n- The RadSTAR photo competition: Come to the farmers' market by bike and become a RadSTAR at the casting show in the RadKULTUR tent. www.radkultur-bw.de\/buehl\/radstar.
\n- A food truck with regional products
\n- A vegan restaurant
\n- Special bikes: tandem, e-trike and cargo bike
\nTalk to private users of electric cars and scooters! Bicycle dealers and inventors present e-bikes, recumbents, Lastenrd and bicycles of all kinds.
\nAt Stadtwerke, you can hire e-bikes and complete packages for cycle tours.
\n\u201eCar-Sharing\u201c from Stadtmobil S\u00fcdbaden and bike coding from the ADFC, from 10:00 to 15:00, can be found in the south of the main street.<\/p>\n
